Luna Lovegood is the daughter of Xenophilius and Pandora Lovegood. Her father is the editor of the Quibbler newspaper and her mother died when Luna was only 9 years old in an accident.
She entered Hogwarts at the same time as her friend Ginny Weasley, a year after Harry Potter, and joined the Ravenclaw house. She joins Dumbledore's Army and participates in the Battle of Hogwarts. Luna is a student who is considered strange and has even been given the nickname Loony.
Luna has long, strawberry blonde hair that falls to her waist, and large, bulging blue eyes with very light eyebrows that give her a surprised look. She often wears radish earrings and a necklace made of butterbeer corks.
Her magic wand is made of light wood, the handle is carved in the shape of a tulip.
