Beware of these mischievous creatures! Indeed, the Cornish pixie is known for his pranks and for the many troubles he can cause. Of very small and bright blue in colour, this species is found mainly in England, in the county of Cornwall, which gives it its name. Cornish leprechauns are described without wings in the book Life and Habitat of Fantastic Animals. However it is indeed
with wings that we find them in the films.
It is in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets that we discover for the first time these creatures. Gilderoy Lockhart, then Professor of Defence Against the Dark Arts, releases some of the Cornish goblins, into the classroom. Neville Londubat will pay the price as the creatures attack him by lifting him up by his ears and tying him to the chandelier.
The lesson turns into a disaster!
