Each Ollivander wand contains very powerful magical substances: unicorn hair, phoenix feathers or dragon heart ventricles.
Severus Snape was Professor of Potions from 1981 to 1996, Professor of Defence Against the Dark Arts from 1996 to 1997, Headmaster of Slytherin and also Headmaster of Hogwarts School between 1997 and 1998. Snape played a decisive role in the war against Voldemort, although this remained a secret for many years. Indeed, the nature of his exact loyalty (to Voldemort or to Dumbledore) is a crucial question in the saga, resolved only in book seven.
