Beschreibung

Authentic letter-opener replica of Tauriel's dagger.
Supplied in a glass display box with"Dagger of Tauriel" written in gold (25 x 8 cm).

Tauriel is a fictional character featured in Peter Jackson's fantasy film saga The Hobbit, adapted from the novel of the same name by British author J. R. R. Tolkien. This character does not exist in Tolkien's original book. Peter Jackson decided to incorporate a female character into the second part of the film trilogy. This change caused controversy among fans of the novel. Peter Jackson himself later admitted that he had taken this "unsentimental" decision so that young girls aged 8 to 10 could identify with one of the characters in the story3.

Tauriel is a woodland elf from the Black Forest, captain of King Thranduil's guard. The actress Evangeline Lilly plays the character in the films The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013) and The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (released on 10 December 2014).
