In the fourth part of the saga, Hogwarts hosts the Three Wizards Tournament, a competition in which 3 champions from 3 different schools of magic go head-to-head in dangerous trials. Dumstrang and Beauxbatons are invited to spend the year at Hogwarts Castle.
Any student wishing to enter the Tournament must write their name on a piece of paper and throw it into the Goblet of Fire. It is the Goblet itself that chooses the Champions, throwing the piece of paper into the air before Dumbledore can catch it. The Champions will have to face three Tasks if they hope to win the trophy.
